Welcome to UiWE

Many good projects – be it planning, interior design or a development process – fail to realize their potential because physical and practical design is not knitted together with cultural understanding – of the users, the employees, the cultural values of a place. At UiWE, our role is to integrate the design – be it of a space, a website or a strategy – with culture development – peoples actions and values.

What is culture design?

Culture designer’s approach
We put great effort into understanding why people do what they do. We consider links between everyday culture and the cultural aspirations and ideals that enable change. We believe that in order to create valuable solutions you need to understand the links between producer and user, public servant and citizen, organization and member. We are in it together – and have to figure it out – together, by designing our ways of interaction better. This requires holistic cultural understanding, as well as design skills. Practically, our design process combines cultural analysis, user orientated research, prototyping, testing and implementing. A decisive element in this approach is collaborating with the people who live with our work. Culture design is about the value of its everyday use. We don’t design for us, but for you.
