Together with Imagination, Effekt, Loop and Niras UiWE have been prequalified for the international competition to create a Carlsberg Brand and Experience Centre. The aim is to create a world-class attraction with a broad appeal to visitors who wish to be challenged, engaged and entertained. We are proud to be in good company with a great challenge: to create a place that is both truly global and locally rooted in Copenhagen.

UiWE is co-organizing a course in user-oriented innovation for libraries in Region Sjælland along with Changedesign, Gesamtkunstwerk and Agnethe Kirstine Green. On the agenda is guiding library managers and workers to involve users in efficient and productive ways. The ambition is to create truly inspiring libraries through understanding and collaborating with the library users.

The good people behind GivRum host the conference Think Space, August 19-20. On the agenda is creative use of empty buildings, urban planning and user participation. Christian moderates talks by two international pioneers in the field: Tim Jones from Artscape (Toronto) and Daniella Brahm from Exrotaprint (Berlin). The conference takes place at Prags Boulevard 43 – itself a good Danish example of creative use of empty buildings.

UiWE puts the challenge of peeing in public spaces on the agenda with the platform PeeBetter – human solutions in public space. We present thoughts, solutions and ideas on how to adress this banal problem that causes so much trouble – not least for girls. We moved our office to new, spacious surroundings in the collaborative workspace Coplay at Frederiksberg. We enjoy the seven meters to the ceiling and an interesting mix of entrepreneurs, designers and communication-people. Come and visit us!

Høje Taastrup is hosting a conference on creative city making for the Creative City Challenge network May 5. Christian is giving a talk on the LIGHTSOUND (LYSLYD) project and on the perspectives and challenges for different city actors working together in public space.
