A cultural strategy for identity and community life in a competition-winning master plan.
Together with Arkitema, Effekt, Viggo Madsen Ingeniører, and Center for Idræt & Arkitektur UiWE won a master plan competition for Viby Syd, a socially challenged residential area outside Aarhus. Our team’s plan combined a sustainable renovation of the worn seventies building blocks, a conceptual landscape project and a cultural strategy to support identity and community life.
UiWE were responsible for cultural strategy and participation design for the project. We put special emphasis on enhancing the social infrastructure, linking public spaces in the residential area with local institutions.
